Parish Council Sets 2022/23 Parish Precept

The Parish Council met Monday 10th  January and discussed its strategic and financial plans for 2022/23 and beyond.

The Council is committed to replacing the children’s play equipment on the recreation ground, and to provide adult exercise equipment, too. The Council will be seeking grants but will have to provide significant funds from the Council’s earmarked reserve which it has been slowly building up over several years to enhance the recreation ground.

In addition, the Council wishes to invest sufficient funds into its contracted horticultural services to ensure residents can be proud of their Village.

Councillors were conscious of the pressures of inflation being experienced by residents, but resolved to increase the precept by 8%. This represents a rise of  around 8p per week for a Band D property.

(Town and parish councils are free to increase precepts without limit, and one local parish will be imposing a 100% rise in its 2022/23 precept.)
